Project Based Learning Model

Learning at Little Black Pearl Academy is project-based, arts integrated, and interdisciplinary.  The learning model is grounded in four pillars that include:

Students as researchers - All students are actively engaged in inquiry based learning which forms students as problem-solvers, critical thinkers, and active learners.

Students as collaborative creators - All students engage in creation through the active integration of the arts throughout the curriculum.

Students as narrators of a new story - All students engage in social emotional learning and the building of competencies grounded in culturally relevant pedagogy.

Students as leaders - All students take an active role in designing projects to serve humanity.

The learning model is focused on problem-based learning experiences in which students use inquiry to research, collaboration to create projects that will positively impact others, and use social emotional competencies to lead and create a personal narrative of success. With that LBPA uses industry standard “Best- Practices” to implement a practical approach for generating increased interest in identifying personal strengths that elevate levels of confidence in their ability to learn, interpret, comprehend and produce particular outcomes as a structured result.
